06/24/2008 "Work Drama" Sorry for the lag in blogging for the few people that check my blog. The last couple days have been absolutely hectic. So lemme get to the nitty gritty of whats been going on at work since I last blogged. The teller manager (we'll call her N) is the nicest person you'll ever know and she's a prime example how fed up we've all become of our place of work thanks to our CEO. What basically happen is that we had an extremely psycho member who was ranting, spitting, and threatening everyone in the lobby because the tellers could not give her cash from her deposited checks (she opened the account fraudulently). To get her out of the lobby, N cut her a bank check...and the member service manager immediately called the police while she told me to stop the check immediately. So the cops come in and they're taking a statement from the member service manager. The crazy member comes BACK after 20 minutes to try and cash the check with a different teller. The cops spot her and immediately go to her to ask her a couple questions. The lady spazzes out and assaults the cop (putting him in a headlock and punching him in the face trying to get a hold of his gun) and tries to run away. It takes four cops to pin her down and hog tie her! Basically I saw the whole thing through surveillance cameras and watching the whole thing go down outside my office window. Well back to the subject in question, so I personally think N did a pretty appropriate thing. The lady was psycho (as seen in my story) and the security of the other customers and employees came first so she got the lady out of the building by giving her that fake check. After all this went down, the CEO pulls N into his office (mind you, he did this without telling the Member Service manager who N works under) and took it upon himself to berate her about the decision she made. I don't know what exactly they discussed in his office, but I heard it was along the lines of "that was a bad decision, you should've waited until someone else called the police to arrest her rather than let her go". The fuck??? We all know she did it with the best intentions to get a psychopath out of the building so no one would get hurt!! Basically in this hour long office meeting, the CEO brings N to tears (congratulations, you're a real man for making a girl cry) and she goes back to the teller line to resume work. That was when the member service manager spots her and asks, "Oh hey, N~ I wanted to ask you about that check that was cut" and thats when she had enough and flipped out and yelled "FUCK THIS SHIT, I'M NOT TAKING THIS FUCKING CRAP ANYMORE! I'M GETTING THE FUCK OUT OF HERE" and left the building right there! Everyone's been trying to get a hold of her all day today to get her to come back, but no such luck. She was a great teller manager and a great person. I am completely on her side on this one. I'm sad that she had to take so much crap from the guy, but at the same time I admire her a lot for getting the heck out of this place with no compromises. I've been submitting resumes again to different places to see what I can get. At this rate, I don't see anything good happening at work at all. They basically tripled my workload and there is no sign of me getting a raise or getting another accountant in our department. Sigh. |
